Politics In Plain Language is a site for simple, clear writing about politics, society and the economy.

This project is inspired by many different people, groups and sources. The primary inspiration is my grandfather, who operated a store in Manhattan on Broadway and 143rd St. He is in the middle in the picture above, tending to newspaper and magazines he sold. He spent most of his life in a small store, selling newspapers, cigars, and cigarettes, surrounded by the news of the day between the 1920s and early 1980s.
